Rainy Day Sewing Project

Today, I meet up with a friend and we're going to have a sewing fest! I'll be bringing my sewing machine over to her house, then we'll go to the store to shop for fabric and supplies (!), and then we'll sew and knit to our heart's delight. I think we may even whip a lunch and some tea! I know, we're hardcore like that!

This is what I'll be doing. I think she'll be making a simple bag. Can't wait!

The Osmond SISTERS!!!

Or are they??? ...

Ya wanna win a brand new Janome sewing machine? Huh, do ya??? Well, you'd better enter to win real quick-like 'cause the contest is going to end on March 30th. TWO lucky, lucky people are going to win an awesome Janome machine, and if you know anything about me, you know I love me a Janome.

So. Go enter to win. Watch this neat video with the lovely ladies who are hosting this giveaway and hope/pray/wish/plead that you are one of those two winners.

Oh yeah. Lest I forget. There are also ten kits being given away to make some really darling pincushions. You'll see them in the vid.

Good luck!

P.S. If you want to find out if these lovely ladies are Osmonds or not, you're going to have to watch to find out. :)

Knit Picky

I am so enjoying learning how to knit. I have wanted to pick it up for some time now and have joyfully discovered what I thought to be true, which is that I am taking to it quite quickly. It's kind of funny though as I don't know anyone in my daily life who knits other than my mother-in-law who is in another state, so I learn from YouTube videos. But visual learning is the only way to understand a visual activity, at least for me. Reading from a book is much more difficult and even just looking at pictures doesn't do the trick. But anyway, it's really fun. AND... I am a certified vegan knitter! OK, well maybe not certified, but I am a dedicated vegan knitter... no wool, silk, or any other animal-derived yarns. Yay!

Sew You Think You Can Sew?

I LOVE this sewing room!!! I can't emphasize that enough. Envy. Total envy. But actually what's even cooler is designing your own. I don't have that kind of space, but I know one day I will - and I am taking notes from the above. Gorgeous. Especially that chair! And the green dresser, and the Mac computer! Yowza!
